Tonino hey well I could write a book about that kid.

I will keep it short and sweet. Probably one of the most talented kids I have seen in a long time. When T is focused and committed he will surf the pants off anyone. Even with his a small three legged stature the kid is very comfortable in over head waves. Tavarua this year we surfed 8ft Cloudbreak with Shane Dorian and they were going wave for wave. It was such a trip to see him blazing out there. Back in 2007 we were filming for Mixed Tape in Bali with Machado, Fanning and Bobby. Tonino was pretty pumped to be around the caliber of these guys and really wanted to show his talents. First day we surfed super fun Karamas. It was Tonino's first time in Bali. I told him to put heaps of sunscreen on as you get fried there. He looks at me and said, “Nah, no worries I’m Hawaiian don’t need screen”. (Tonino is as albino Hawaiian as you get.) So he surfed all day and wondered why that night he felt like shit. The kid looked like a boiled lobster and was dehydrated to the bone. Next day we took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with severe sunstroke and was bed ridden for the next 5 days.....
Till this day Tonino wears screen always....
