Natural talent is a cliché idea, but in Seppe Smit’s case, it’s totally authentic. From humble beginnings on the indoor slopes of his native Belgium, Seppe went on to boggle minds across the world with a meteoric rise up the heavy ranks of international contests. Bursting onto the scene with a win at the 2009 Air & Style Rookie Session, Seppe has been racking up podiums from China to Spain ever since, clocking serious travel miles and enough rotations to make a Tasmanian Devil dizzy.
Far from a one-spin shredder, Seppe matches innate shred ability with a major work ethic— having major slopestyle victories and top-three big air finishes, he’s taking on halfpipe as well, positioning himself to take a run at the overall TTR title. Check out his technical kicker wizardry in Burton’s latest film, Standing Sideways.
